Charismatic prayer groups meet throughout the diocese, usually on a weekly basis. The purpose of a prayer meeting is to gather together as a community of believers to give praise and worship to the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit. Music is a vital element of a prayer meeting. Music and songs of praise are used to lift the attendees minds and hearts to the Lord, to give Him worship and praise. Prayer meetings generally have a time for teachings and witness, as well as time for intercessory prayer and personal prayer ministry. Prayer groups are open and attentive to the charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit. A prayer meeting typically lasts 1 1/2 hours and new members are always welcome.
